As part of our Advanced Portfolio we are required to make a 'promo pack' for our chosen song. Here are two posters, both by You Me At Six, adversiting their tours. I really like the way the posters are both in black & white, instantly creating a theme that allows the audience to connect the image with the band. Personally I prefer the 'Sinners Never Sleep' poster as I like how the identity of the girl is ambiguous, fufilling audience needs because they can identify with her and feel closer to the band themselves. Although the 'Bite my Tounge' poster uses more dramatic and eye catching contrast levels, I feel by including the whole band together iscolates the audience more from them.
Another thing I noted when comparing these posters was the similar font used across the board - it's understated, yet has a slightly harsh edge to it - not disimilar to the image the band are trying to portra, and something I should consider when designing my digipack.
