Today was my narrative shoot with Nick and Naomi, and I feel it went really well. The weather was pefect for us, and I managed to get all the shots I needed (and then some more). By using and sticking to a fairly strict time schedule we shot 105 clips in about 4 hours, which is brilliant as now I have so much footage to play with in editing. Most of my shots were well framed and looked exactly how I'd envisioned, probably due to my storyboarding prior to the date. However, I am going to have to make some small adjustments to my storyboard. The slide scene didn't work at all as I'd hoped, and so I will replace this with either the shot of blowing bubbles, presenting her with a rose or cloud-watching as these clips looked particularly effective on film. Now I am going to narrow down my footage to about 40 clips, which I will then import into Final Cut ready for post-production. Another problem I had was synching one line of the song to the protagonist's mouths, however, I think I have enough decent footage to change this and still have it look good and fit with the conventions better. Altogether, it was a really good day for filming, and I got all I need done.
