This contrasting utopia and dystopia created by Rihanna is really clever. Like myself, she uses the idea of flashbacks within a failing relationship. I like the colour levels in the video, they aren't quite fully coloured; showing dystopia and sadness - and contrasting with the genre of music. I also think the speaking at the beginning is particually effective, however, I don't know if it'd work within my own video because the song doesn't build up as this one does. The shot, which is viewed through the car windscreen is also something that I am replicating, because I think it distances the audience from the protagonists, adding a greater sense of tension between them.
